I met you on a Monday
in Dolores Park
Our dog leashes got tangled
It was getting dark
The San Francisco skyline
caught the setting sun
We admired its beauty
Our friendship had begun
It became a habit for us
ev'ry Monday night at dusk
In the park we walked our dogs
even in wind and rain and fog
Then surprising offers came
to both of us from work -
out-of-state promotions
with big pay raises and perks
But we talked about what we had
and it didn't seem that bad
When we thought of what we'd miss
that was when we kissed
How could we deny it?
We each felt a spark
We were meant to be married
at dusk in Dolores Park
On a Monday in Dolores Park
